Thackrey Doesn’t Like IPL!

Bal Thackrey, through the mouthpiece of the RSS, lashed out today against the IPL. It seems he doesn’t like the entire concept of it.
“Oh Pawar, what is happening in the realm of cricket?” he said. “These industrialists are throwing money in your cricket field as a result of which cricket is getting corrupt. Cricketers are being purchased as a result this their concentration will not be in the game and the sport will decline in this country,” he cautioned.
Check out this article from the Hindu. Reading it, it’s not clear if Thackrey doesn’t like the entire idea of cricket or just the terminology being used. I find it real funny that just because words like “auction” and “bought for $x” are being used, some folks are equating it to prostitution and such. I mean, the exact same thing happens in the stock markets everyda, but Thackrey doesn’t seem to mind that.
