Justin Langer says NO to IPL
Feb 25th, 2008 | By Aditya | Category: News
Justin Langer, the Australian player, pulled out of the IPL after having been snapped up by the Jaipur team. Langer was not clear about why exactly he was withdrawing, but instead made philosophical statements like “When you go to your grave, people will remember what you did with your life rather than how much money you made.” It seems like he is very troubled by all the money floating around the IPL, saying “…when you see how much money is being paid out, I think we have to be very careful to protect the integrity of the game.”
Of course, Justin was sold for one of the lowest prices, at $200,000 half of Ponting’s $400,000 and significantly less than Symonds’ $1,350,000. Why do I get the feeling that he is feeling a little green about how little he got, rather than being concerned about the integrity of Cricket?
