Finally some talk about improving venues!

Cricket StadiumI can’t help but wonder if all the money from the IPL is going to end up buying Ferraris for the top players, or will at least some of it translate into better infrastructure for the participating cities. It is no secret that Cricket stadiums across the country are in very bad shape, but little, if any, done for the spectators.

After weeks of silence, finally there seems to be some good news. Mumbai is readying a swanky new stadium to host the IPL matches, and this stadium is going to be the home of the Mumbai team. The D Y Patil stadium is almost ready, and with a seating capacity of 55,000 promises to be a good venue. According to this article in the Hindustan Times, this new venue has incorporated some of the best facilities and learnt from stadium all over the world.

This is definitely good news for sports fans. Hopefully this will also translate to other cities and we’ll all get some new facilities!
