I wanna play IPL for Free !

Mar 10th, 2008 | By sandeeps | Category: News

lukeThe second round of auction is going to take place tomorrow and many of the franchisee (except Jaipur) are not so enthusiastic as they are at threshold or have crossed the max cap of 5 million USD kitty.

But the statement made by Australia’s fringe player Luke Pomersbach, who is in the second draft of players to be auctioned, would have come as a relief to franchisee. According to a AFP report, he is willing to play IPL for free as he will learn a lot by playing with good cricketers in the league !

What is he trying to communicate? Is it a usual ‘attention getter’ statement? He has pretty decent domestic cricket record in Australia and has played one Twenty20 International match. He was recently awarded Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year - 2008.

He is trying to be honest, but it’s a immature statement. He’s like the graduate kids who want to go to big companies for ‘free’ internship because they’ll learn a lot. Well, who knows after hearing Luke’s statement some of the IPL franchise may call for summer internship openings in the near future.
