SRK to fix Indian Hockey (but after making money from IPL)

Mar 18th, 2008 | By Aditya | Category: News

SRKAfter the spectacular debacle of Indian Hockey that saw the doors to its olympic dreams shut for the first time in 80 years, has got SRK’s attention. The ever publicity-hungry Shahrukh Khan today came out in support of Indian Hockey, urging everyone to stop the blame game and get down to fixing the problem. SRK, if you remember, had played the role of a hockey coach who goes and “fixes up” the team. SRK’s promise to do the same in the real world is commendable, but there’s only one problem.

SRK says he’ll do it only after starting to make real money from his IPL team. SRK owns the Kolkata team, and he says once the money starts to flow in (at some uncertain  point in the future), he’ll invest it back inthe growth of Hockey. Well, here’s hoping the “KnightRiders” can do better than their cheesy name indicates :)

  1. Great News…

Anyways, the last person to need publicity in India is Shahrukh Khan. He may need it if his movies are releasing.

(He made a mediocre movie like Om Shanti Om the biggest hit of the decade by sheer publicity.)

I hope he does something for the hockey team. Just attending a few hockey matches can do the game whole lot of good.

There are a lot of SRK fans who’ll watch hockey to catch a glimpse of SRK and in the bargain like the game and get interested in hockey.

I saw the Asia Cup and I thought that the Indian Hockey team were just unbeatable. I got interested in the game and then I saw a lot of the world cup qualifiers too.

People will get passionate about hockey but only if they see it.
