Impact of BIA on IPL

Two of the most hotly discussed topics here in Bangalore over the last few days have been the absurdly-far-away Bangalore International Airport that is about to open and Vijay Mallya’s tactics in the IPL. We at the Unofficial IPL blog put on our conspiracy-theory hat, and it immediately became obvious to us that there is a very very deep connection between the two.
Consider this - The soon-to-be-opened Bangalore International Airport(BIA) is 30 km from the heart of city (and the cricket stadium) and simply put, there is no road to get to the Airport. That’s right! It’s going to take more than 3 hours to reach the stadium from the airport. This is actually a core part of the Bangalore Royal Challengers’ strategy.
The visiting teams will take forever to reach the stadium, and end up spending more time on the road than on the pitch practicing for the match against. The fantastic commute through potholed roads interspreced with cows and tractors should frustrate the hell out of the opposing team. Remember, cricket is primarily played in the mind. And by messing with the other team’s head, the Bangalore team already has the lead.
The crowd support is very important for boosting performance of players. Let’s assume the people supporting the visiting team land in Bangalore 1-2 hrs before the match, after all air traffic delays. By the time they reach the stadium from BIA, the match would have been over, thanks to short duration of twenty20 format. In other words, only support for the Bangalore team.
Also, the official airline for IPL is Kingfisher, so Mallya uncle can knock out the visiting players with booze (served free inflight!). The booze, just to be sure, will be served by the Kingfisher air hostesses. Who can refuse them? On the other side, as the fans (and the bangalore team) are waiting for the opposition to arrive, Vijay Mallya will also set up a booze stall inside the stadium, where people will end up hanging out and buying a bunch of his stuff! The booze sales will be much higher than the ticket sales, and Mallya will be laughing all the way to the bank - Even before the match has started!
Not a bad strategy at all!

And what abt Kingfisher Wine instead of Drinks
Rather stale age old grape Juice instead or orange for a change.
Hehe… Mallya is a shrewd businessman indeed!
i dont think so that no one else can give this kind of guesture like Mr. Mallya……… NO ONE…………..i can bet on this………………..he is the flamboy who can give the best for the IPL…………..RELAX GUYS…………….you wont get a guesture like what Mr. Mallya has done…………..cheers
Professional sportsmen’s behaviour when together resembles that of an army platoon. They are all on very strict and controlled diets as well as monotonous fitness regimes. So they’re not going to get drunk. But think of it this way: how do teams currently visit Bangalore without the airport? Why would they change their plans?
This guy writing the blog is obviously a disillusioned moron. It’s against the Indian law to serve alcohol in domestic flights. No domestic airlines serves alcohol in India. If they do, they would be in jail.
