Ganguly And Warne At It Again

May 3rd, 2008 | By Aditya | Category: News

“Best Friends Forever” Sourav Ganguly and Shane Warne were fined 10% of their match fees yesterday when their age-old rivalry spilled over on the field yet again over a catch that was to have dismissed Ganguly. The catch is question, taken by Grahame Smith was a tight one, and Ganguly walked over to the umpire and told him to refer it to the third umpire. The third umpire gave it not-out for lack of clear evidence (benifit of doubt to the batsman rule) and that jerked off Warne who couldn’t help but tell Ganguly what he thought of him.

Oh well! This is to be expected of Ganguly. I’ll be shocked if he keeps more than 50% of his fees by the end of the IPL! Oh, and by the way, the on-field umpire, Pratap Kumar also got suspended for one match for listening to Ganguly and referring it to the third umpire.

  1. I think the real problem is the media. from the IPL officials and everybody else the punishment seemed valid and fair to all the players involved and the umpire. although here as an blog that is really supposed to represent “alternative media”…we are just echoing the effects of the ratings driven ugly media. in all honesty , I think blogs should do a better job of representing cricket than the mainstream media which represents the ugliest form of corporations for me.

  2. he doing horable
