The Chennai SuperKings seem unstoppable now. Despite having lost their top-performing aussie players after just 2 weeks, the Chennai SuperKings have coped up really well with the circumstances. After yesterday’s match against the Kings XI, the status of the SuperKings as favorites-to-win has been confirmed in my mind.
Dhoni was in full flow yet again yesterday, smashing a 60 in 43 balls, helping the SuperKings to 181. That’s a good total to get against a team whose primary strength is bowling. And when the SuperKings came back to field, they did a good job with the bowling too, winning comfortably, Balaji’s Hat-Trick notwithstanding.
But it is Dhoni that continues to impress me. He showed such commitment and leadership when batting yesterday, coming in when Chennai had lost quick early wickets, and held the innings steady, while scoring comfortably. And out on the field, Dhoni’s leadership is noticeable, appreciating good fielding, and pulling up sloppy fielding. Dhoni has proved that he’s absolutely worth every rupee of his Rs 6 Crore salary.
Well done, Dhoni! Keep up the good work!
