Shoaib Runs Through Daredevils

After being in the will-play-won’t-play situation for more than a month, Shoaib Akhtar made his much awaited IPL debut for the Kolkata KnightRiders, and what a debut it was! Akhtar just ripped through the Daredevil’s top order, taking the first 4 wickets for just 11 runs! He seemed to be in full fit form, bowling at 150 kmph! Akhtar was also on a hat-trick at one point. The KnightRiders were defending a very low total today, but the bowlers came really good for the KnightRiders.
The fielding of the KnightRiders was also spectacular today. Lots of direct hits to the wickets, and plenty of run outs too! Saha did a fantastic job behind the stumps, was lightning fast with the throws. The Daredevils’ running was arguably bad today, not agressive enough in converting the 1s to 2s, and taking unnecessary risks on the singles. The tight fielding put too much pressure on the batsmen, who dutifully threw their wickets.
Earlier in the day, SRK, in his typical showman like fashion, signed and gave Akhtar his KnightRiders T-Shirt on the ground, in front of the full stadium. SRK must be mighty pleased with Shoaib’s performance today. The KnightRiders were in a little bit of trouble in the league tables, but today’s win and Shoaib’s full return to form must have given Ganguly a sound nights sleep.

Shoaib can make his presence count and could well take Kolkata to final four if his IPL debut was any indication of future performances.
shoaib akhtar has shown immense character with his stunning performance especially after the harrowing experience he had to go through once the ban was imposed on him….
to come back from hell and focus on your game is no mean achievement..
