Desperate knock from Dravid in Pink-City
May 17th, 2008 | By sandeeps | Category: News
Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) had a match against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur. It was the first match in the pink-city after recent terror attacks.
Sitting at bottom of the league-table and out of contention for semi-finals the only task for RCB was to play for pride. But they were again outclassed in all departments of the game. Nothing seem to be working for the team, chasing 198 to win they lost their top order in within the power play itself.
However there were some sparks in the end of the innings and surprisingly it was from their captain Rahul Dravid. 75 runs, 36 balls, 6 sixes, 6 fours !!! and in fact he was the winner of DLF maximum sixes award. So is this knock was a sort of statement to his team members or rather to his team-owner? Quite obvious .. as he has been under the microscope for last few weeks and many critics are questioning his ‘iconic’ status.
Anyway the knock didn’t had any impact on outcome of the match and RCB continue to remain in the bottom of the league-table and Brand Bangalore, Brand Dravid takes more beating. In my opinion RCB has to play like a team and concentrate on winning the match rather than making a statement or something similar to that. As evident from the today’s match they were trying to chase the score from the first ball itself with no decent strategy or may be with a extra-ordinary startegy! Hopefully the team puts up good show in their home ground against Delhi DareDevils on May19th.

This only reiterates that Dravid cannot handle pressure as this game was played purely for statistical purposes…..come on dude grow up….
Dravid Won us Series in overseas like England and West Indies. As an Indian captain the greatest acheivement is to win in overseas. Why do you think i mentioned about Dravid winning series in WI and England?? Isnt that head to head?? Man i really thought you know what you are typing. But you are proving to be again one of those annoying writers. Also you told Dravid is not a tT20 captain?? Wait for sometime boss. If he wins IPL for RCB with next season ppl like you will start shut all what you have.. Its no point arguing with you. You just dont seem to know anything other than passing judgements about a player. May be you are from North India or BEngal. Your racial attitude is clearly visible. Dravid is not a good T20 player?? Did u see the recent games?? I am sure you would not have as you are busy wit licking Ganguly ASS.
Think before you ink is an appropriate phrase for fools like you
hi ajith,
This post was regarding Dravid’s statement making innings in context of IPL. So his past TEST records are irrelevant for the discussion. Btw I have seen subsequent games and posted about those too, RCB have played pretty well to avoid the basement !
FYI …I am from Bengalooru …. and please refrain making any baseless racial/regional comments as you know how big this issue can be as we have seen in several cricketing episodes.
